Friday meal at Firestones

While we often grab a bite at Firestone’s Culinary Tavern, most of the time we’re content with the delicious fare from the tavern menu. Sometimes though the occasion calls for a bottle of wine and a full three courses. Last Friday was one of those occasions.

The Amuse Bouche, red snapper ceviche on top of a fresh, crispy tortilla.

To start, Tuna Tartare with yuzu white soy vinaigrette, cucumber, radish, and sesame crisps (not pictured)

The main courses …

Red Snapper over plantains

Pork Tenderloin wrapped in Virginia Speck with some sweet and savory raviolis and wilted spinach over an apple cream sauce (You can tell this is what I ordered, my memory of the components is much better haha.) I love to try adding fruit to savory dishes when I cook, so I was all over this dish. Not a drop of that sauce remained on that plate. So good!

And for dessert, Coconut Bread Pudding with Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream. There was quite literally some spice to this one. I was fairly happy I was the only one who really wanted dessert. Sharing was far, far from my mind.

I’d gladly repeat this meal. If you find yourself heading to Firestone’s anytime soon for dinner, I recommend you seriously consider making any or all of these dishes a part of your meal.
