All the Ways to Celebrate Oktoberfest
September 27 & 28 – Frederick’s Oktoberfest
Bratwurst, Oktoberfest beer, German wines, dancing, music, children’s events and much more! And it all benefits Frederick County charities!
September 28 – Oktoberfest Mini Lesson at Flying Dog
Learn about and taste Maryland’s best handmade sausages, local sauerkraut and how American craft brewers picked up where the Germans brewers left off. This class includes a bratwurst provided by Meat Crafters, complimented by Sweet Farm condiments.
October 5 – Oktoberfest at Doner Bistro Frederick6th annual Oktoberfest with Live Music by the Lost Lederhosen! Original German Oktoberfest Bier from different Breweries on tap! Food Specials!
October 6 – Oktoberfest at Olde MotherThe first OKTOBERFEST at the brewery! Tickets include: custom branded commemorative mug, 2 beer tokens for 20 oz mug pours, Weisswurst and Bavarian Bratwurst (shipped from Germany), German potato salad and homemade beer mustard all by the great Chef Niko at Roast House Pub! Traditional German music by the Edelweiss Band.
October 19 & 20 – Oktoberfest at Schifferstadt Architectural Museum
Come enjoy great food and drink, lively German music, historic demonstrators, and hand-made products from many art and craft vendors.
November 2 – Oktoberfest at Rockwell Brewery

October 11 – 26 – Trail of Jack-o-Lanterns at Green Meadows Farm
October 12 & 13 – Catoctin Colorfest
Catoctin Colorfest comes to Thurmont, MD the second full weekend of October each year. The festival was established in 1963 and has evolved into one of the largest outdoor craft shows on the East Coast. Colorfest is not just an event, but an experience! Amazing crafts, art, jewelry, clothing, a variety of delicious food, and much more is located throughout town.
October 19 & 20 – Homegrown Hay Days at Frederick County Farms
Frederick County Farms will each host a variety of special activities and events. While you’re enjoying your time on the farm, you’ll also be learning about agriculture in Frederick County.
Tuesday, September 24 & Wednesday, September 25 – Adventurer’s Club: Marvel Edition at White Rabbit Gastropub The White Rabbit Gastropub’s supper pairing event. Guests will experience a unique pairing experience created by chef Adam Hatfield and our beloved staff. No other details will be given except that it is not to be missed. Herbivores & omnivores are welcome.
Saturday, September 28 – Farm Garden Cocktails & Farm to Table Dinner at Fox Haven Farm & Learning Center Enjoy a garden cocktail hour with Lacey Walker and full course meal with Chef David Matern. The meal will be be packed with fresh ingredients and divine flavors that highlight local farms including Fox Haven and Full Cellar Farm.
Monday, September 30 – Maryland Wineries Association Dinner at The Wine Kitchen
A dinner to celebrate the winners of the Maryland Wineries Association Comptroller’s Cup. A five course meal prepared by chef Jeff Beard and the Wine Kitchen on the Creek paired with the outstanding Maryland wines from the Comptroller’s Cup competition.
October 12 – 2nd Annual Downtown Frederick Oyster Crawl
Support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation during this briny event! Visit participating restaurants from 2-4 pm and get slurping! Each stop will have a minimum of two oyster dishes, and may participants will have drink specials as well.
October 12 & 13 – Explorer’s Festival at Distillery Lane Ciderworks
This annual festival will offer fresh and hard cider tastings, fresh apples, food pairings, orchard tours, and beekeeping demos.
October 13 – Souper Sunday at Ayse Meze
Enjoy delicious soups from some of Frederick’s finest restaurants as well as salad, bread and dessert! You’ll also get to select a handcrafted bowl made by local potters at the Frederick Clay Studio, all the while supporting the critical programs of the Frederick Rescue Mission!
