Time for another addition of recent eats! From panna cotta to cured salmon benedict, we’ve got more evidence that Frederick is a great town for food enthusiasts.
This yummy bagel sandwich was enjoyed on the first day of the 2016 tour season at Pretzel & Pizza Creations. The bagels are made with the same dough as they pretzels, meaning they’re just as heavenly.
Shuckin Shack has been a welcome addition on Market Street when we’re looking for a place to grab a bite and catch a game. Pictured here are the fried shrimp tacos, some hush puppies and the crab balls. Highly recommend the crab balls (and the cold crab dip.)
This was lunch at The Tasting Room during Frederick Restaurant Week last month. The big windows in there make for easy food photography ;-). To start we ordered the 4th Regiment rye cocktail, it was a pleasant drink to sip on throughout the meal. We tried the cauliflower soup, salmon cakes and lemon panna cotta from the restaurant weeks menu. The signature power lunch (Filet Mignon and truffle fries) also proved too irresistible to pass up.
A Sunday brunch at Isabella’s Taverna & Tapas Bar led to the discovery of two new favorites: the cured salmon benedict and the house infused gazpacho vodka used to make this epic bloody mary.
Happy hour at Firestone’s usually means an appetizer or two. OK usually two and you can’t go wrong with their tuna tartare or deviled egg trio.
The first two photos here were taken at JoJo’s. The pork belly tacos are one of my very favorite things and they know how to make a proper fritter. The third photo is the roasted red peppers and sardines at Nido’s. I also tried their mussels linguine with garlic & herb butter. It looked so good I forget to take a picture, and looks did not dissappoint. Looking forward to another bowl sometime soon. Hopefully really soon, we here it’s BOGO night at Nido’s on Mondays.
